Sunday is a good day to organize the bookshelves. It’s also a good day to sit down with one crazy book.
And today, I want to pay homage to a mad writer/photographer who did something I would have loved to have done myself.
Working as a security guard at the Metropolitan Museum in New York when the Looking In: Robert Frank’s The Americans was staged, Jason Eskenazi decided to speak to photographers and editors visiting the exhibition and asked them which is his/her favorite picture from The Americans.
How cool is that right?
To paraphrase the words Jack Kerouac used in one of the most important books in photography, I want to say to Eskenazi, “You’ve got balls, brain and heart.”
