Mom wanted very much to go to the hospital garden but it was impossible. Boon Yi did the next closest thing to an actual visit – a virtual tour through his images.

Like all young women, Mom is always looking out for her own complexion and therefore always avoided walking or standing in the sun. During her early hospitalizations, when we took her to the gardens downstairs for short exercises, we would place her in a shade but she would always asked to move to face the sun.
She said a person must face the sun more, especially when one is ill.
In her current ward, Mom’s bed faces the east and will usually get a beautiful ray early in the morning.
But this image was taken late yesterday afternoon. The sunset was brilliant, and it came via the shiny windows in the new building across from Block 4.
Sometimes it is good to ask because miracles do happen.

It was always sad to see Mom frowning so my sisters would often massage her forehead and encourage her to relax.
